Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Contribute to the development of the overall food business strategy in alignment with the company's objectives.
- Implement strategic initiatives to achieve revenue targets, market penetration, and profitability.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends in the food industry.
- Business Development & Investment:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in food-related businesses, including food production, processing, distribution, and retail.
- Conduct due diligence on potential investments, assessing financial viability, market potential, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the food industry, including suppliers, distributors, and potential partners.
- Trading Operations:
- Oversee the trading of food commodities and products, ensuring efficient procurement, logistics, and sales processes.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to optimize trading strategies and maximize profitability.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and customers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery and payment.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures.
- Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare regular reports on business performance and financial results for senior management.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Food Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the food industry, with a focus on business development, investment, or trading.
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing teams, achieving business objectives, and driving growth.
- Strong understanding of the food industry value chain, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Excellent financial analysis, business planning, and strategic thinking skills.
